Abstract

The agricultural sector is increasingly turning to technology to enhance productivity and sustainability. Traditional soil monitoring methods often lack real-time data, leading to suboptimal crop management. This project introduces SMARt’S (Soil Monitoring with Analytics & Recommendation System), an IoT-based system designed to monitor soil parameters such as moisture, temperature, pH, and nutrient levels in real-time. Utilizing a network of sensors connected to microcontrollers, the system collects data that is transmitted to a cloud platform for analysis. Based on this analysis, SMARt’S provides intelligent recommendations to farmers, including optimal irrigation schedules and crop selection guidance. The user-friendly interface ensures easy access to insights via mobile devices or computers. By integrating real-time monitoring with smart recommendations, SMARt’S aims to enhance crop productivity, reduce resource wastage, and promote data-driven farming practices. The system demonstrated high prediction accuracy, with a mean squared error of 0.03 in forecasting nutrient levels and a 20% increase in crop yield during field trials.
