Surface garbage is increasingly contaminating rivers, lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and drainage channels, which has a negative impact on aquatic life, water quality, and the general ecological balance of water bodies. Traditional techniques for eliminating floating garbage typically require manual collection, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and possibly dangerous. The design and development of a Water Surface Trash Skimmer, which gathers floating debris from water bodies’ surfaces with less human intervention, is presented in this study. A floating support structure, conveyor mechanism, DC motor, trash collection container, and appropriate control arrangement make up the suggested system. Floating materials are lifted onto the collection platform by the conveyor, which continuously passes over the water’s surface. The garbage is then placed into a storage container. Plastic bottles, wrappers, leaves, thermocol, and other surface waste are among the lightweight floating objects that the device is intended to gather. Waste collection efficiency, collection capacity, energy consumption, running duration, and system stability can all be used to assess the prototype’s performance. The suggested method offers a straightforward, affordable, and possibly expandable surface-water cleaning option. It can help create healthier and cleaner aquatic ecosystems by lowering the need for manual cleaning.
2026-10-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Advancement in Machines
